Colour Challenge - Chocolate Orange

***edited to add EXTENDED DATE!! We'll close the colour challenge Wednesday, Jan. 20, 8am MST. (on account of a small child in the house having a bad cold, and needing much momma time)...create away my friends! And read on if you've just landed here...

It's a new year and my theme word for the year is "Begin".

I want 2010 to be a year bursting with juicy newness! Doesn't that sound like a delicious way to live life? I think so.

There are a lot of delicious things I want to do with this year. I've got a journal, the word "begin" is on the front so that I am reminded every day of my promise to myself to "begin", to go for it,.. to do, ...to try, ...to start!

So here we are, with a new start and a new little something different on my blog.
A little beginning.
A colour challenge.

Play with me if you want to. Just use the two pictures below for inspiration and keep reading...

The words "chocolate orange" popped into my head today, so I ran with it...

Let your eyes feast on this. Chocolate and Orange are two of my favourite colours (and two of my favourite flavours) and you put them together and well...if a picture is worth a thousand words then I'll just shut up while you look at this.

Yumm, need I say more? Actually yes, has anyone out there actually had this?

and this....

Rudbeckia...even nature loves chocolate and orange!

The rules for Chocolate Orange Colour challenge are simple....use these two photos for inspiration and create a paper craft project celebrating chocolate and orange! It can be anything!

Send me a link to your creation (your blog post or picture on Flickr, for example) by using the Mr. Linky widget and:

  • I'll pick 10 drool worthy projects of chocolate orange goodness and feature them here on my blog...
  • because I'm not a pro blogger, 10 seems manageable and it's 2010 so it seems like a cool way to honour the number of the year
  • How about we try to accomplish this in 10 days? Sound good? (WILL NOW CLOSE WED. Jan 20, 8am MST)
  • Just a note...please ensure that it is the link to the specific photo or blog posting that you are sharing, not the general blog or web address. Thanks :)
Now, let's just "begin" ...
1. Kerri Renaud
2. Sue in Vancouver
3. Lisa - papergrace
4. Allison
5. Mary Dawn
6. Jillian L.
7. Sharon

I am the first on Mr. Linky!! I know the color scheme was chocolate orange, but since mine has sky in it, I had to have a bit of blue too!! Sorry if that disqualifies me...
The deets:
clear embossing powder
paper: chocolate chip, apricot appeal, whisper white
ink: bashful blue, bordering blue, apricot appeal, marigold morning, babsic black, chocolate chip, verdamark
stamps: Medallion, Trendy Trees, Upsy Daisy
Thanks Dreena for creating this forum to stretch me!!!

Thanks for a yummy challenge, Dreena! I was drooling all over my paper... mmm, chocolate orange... I would love to find that ice cream at my local grocery store! (ha, not likely!)

I know the pic of my card is sideways, but I have no idea how to fix it!
