Cupcakes and Inspiration

Wow, the Chocolate Orange challenge REALLY went off with a bang!

I love when my visitors link back to my blog and leave me comments, and I love trying to visit each and every one of you and reading about your creative process.

I love chocolate. I love orange.

Check out this bad boy... CHOCOLATE ORANGE CUPPY CAKE! YES! SQUEEE!!!

THIS, is WHAT I'm talking 'bout folks...look at all that fluffy whippy icing. *glarrrgle drool*

So I just had to do this little featurette because I'm pleased as punch that someone took my colour challenge and translated it into cooking.

Just feeling a little self-love and a little (okay a lot) of love for the cupcake.

Please go visit Yellow Pineapple
HERE and enjoy, like I did. Thank YOU.

Chocolate Orange Challenge Roundup

Here is the gorgeous display of beauty that is the Chocolate Orange Colour Challenge roundup!

Drumroll and applause please....You all created this!

Together you pushed your creative limits, used colours you weren't fond of together (I heard this one alot), you took a risk and posted for your very first time, or you did a challenge for your very first time, you thought outside of the box, you did something different, and all together you made a beautiful collection of art.

I celebrate all of your talents. I enjoyed each and every creation. Thank you for sharing yourselves and your talents with me.

You all helped me with my theme word of the year. BEGIN. Guess what: I learned how to use mr.linky and I learned to do a little funky collage with My Digital Studio to showcase your art, and I enjoyed this so much that I'd like to do 1-2 challenges per month.

Many of you have said that the 10 days (even 2 weeks) was a pleasurable deadline, no pressure and very rewarding to get to bring out your new/old or repurposed supplies. This is great feedback and I will keep the same timeframes for future challenges. My eyeballs have been all over a few things in the house for another challenge....so please stay tuned and check back in the next few days! Invite your friends to come and play as well!

Thank you for leaving comments and supporting each other. (If I knew how to put a hotspot or link over each picture so you could all click on each picture to get to one another's blogs...you know I would do it.) In the meantime, I will have to ask you visit each other by clicking on the links below.

PS. I was only going to pick 10, but 11 of you submitted, and we have 12 cards. That would be like making me pick only two of my 3 children. IMPOSSIBLE. So I picked all of you. Nicole B. who had posted two cards for the challenge, I pick them both! I loved it all. So go visit each other, tell each other how amazing you are and keep posting!

Just a quick summary by name (and as appearing left to right in the above collage):

I Love you Sweet Pea

ahhh....amour, love is in the air....

chocolate...

smiles....

crafting...

YES, I said crafting. This is one of the things you missed if you don't come to class or stamp with me! You missed out on creating this GORGEOUS (tooting my own horn) valentine. In non-traditional valentine colours - yay me! So really, it can be used for loving someone up any time of year, but Valentine's is coming and you OUGHT to give your someone special something handmade and lovely!

Check out the texture and loveliness....the clean simple lines....(I think I have a crush on this card).

This card was inspired by the Sweet Pea Felt, a new Stampin' Up! product in the Occasions Mini Catalogue. Stinkin' cute! I squee'd when I saw them. I loved the colours and translated them over into my valentine (smart of me, now I can hoard my felt just a little longer...).

Here's the scoop:
  • Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder for the Bigshot (to get the sweet little dotted textured background) in Pretty In Pink
  • the Heart of Hearts Embosslits Die (for the scallopy white heart..which also has a dotted texture) in Whisper White
  • Stampin' Up! heart punch (layered on top) in Melon Mambo
  • Scallop Square die to make the card base in Old Olive
  • embellished with some mighty fine Stampin' Up! chocolate 1" grosgrain ribbon.

Voila! PSSST....see the pretty papers in the background?

That's the NEW glittery and GORGEOUS Sending Love Specialty Paper.

Every page has GLITTER accents on it! I might hoard that too!

You need to go to my website, you need to look at pretty things!

But don't listen to me here, go there and see for yourself ... http://www.doodlebug.stampinup.net/

I hope you liked the valentine. Tell me if you make one!

Hugs,

Dreena
